Long Story

I am SOOOO far behind!  True Story: I forgot how to log into my blog...  And then it was a whole month.  And counting.  But I'm back, and will slowly be trying to catch up over the next week- Sorry!

Registering & Apartment Hunting

Last weekend was a very productive "wedding weekend!"  Me and Daniel were able to finish registering for wedding presents.  It was soooo much fun.  At Bed Bath & Beyond and Wal-Mart, Daniel got to play with the gun which was of course his favorite part.  We also registered at Dillards, but unfortunately no gun to play with.  We picked our China and silver wear, and way too many fun kitchen gadgets.  We also registered at the Kitchen Store in Conway a couple weeks earlier.

Then on Saturday we went apartment hunting.  We drove around and wrote down names and phone numbers of places close to campus.  We visited a couple places, and made an appointment for Monday at Club at the Creek.  We ended up liking it the best and turning in an application.  Why?  They had AMAZING closets!  And as Daniel says, they were "Colby Friendly" :)

Big Weekend!

This weekend, Me and Daniel went to Branson for FarmHouse' formal!  We had a GREAT time and accomplished a lot of things for the wedding.  On Saturday, we went to the outlet mall and I found bridesmaid dresses!  I was looking around in the BCBG store, and stumbled across a dress that i LOVED for the girls.  So after about a million phone calls and discussions with the very helpful girls working in the store, I bought 6 dresses for girls that weren't with me and couldn't try them on.  Thankfully, they've been 3 for 3 on the girls that have tried them so far!

Annnnd, about 20 minutes after we got the dresses to the car, we picked out my wedding ring!  It is so beautiful I can't wait to actually get to keep it.  It matches up with my engagement ring so well- they look like they go together!  Picking out the ring was the most "for real" thing I've done so far.  I thought for sure that picking out my dress (which I've decided I can't blog about, because how do I blog about it without describing it?)  would have been the "biggest" thing I had to do, but the ring actually feels so much bigger!  I'm so excited about picking out Daniel's now, I can't wait to get to buy his also.

Wednesday, Me & Daniel took pictures on Old Main lawn.  We were out there for an hour, and Ann ended up with 200 PHOTOS for us to look at!  It was such a good experience for us and the pictures turned out fantastic.  I can't wait to get my DVD (hopefully tomorrow) so that I can post some on here and print off, oh probably all of them!

Busy Week

So #1 sign of a busy week?  No time to blog!  I left off at Sweetheart Dinner last week, and need to start with adding some more pictures (Thanks Madalene!)

The following weekend, Me and Daniel went to Conway to surprise my mom for her birthday.  We had a great weekend at home just hanging out and doing birthday stuff.  Saturday we all went out to dinner with the Lefferts at Market Place.  Then we had cake and continued to play with my mom's new phone!  I did manage to take a few pictures this weekend, which has not been my strong suit lately!

Then, it was back to Fayetteville.  I had three tests this week, which pretty much meant no time to blog.  Glad to finally have some downtime to catch up!

Sweetheart Dinner

So tonight was a fun surprise! I was supposed to go to an "etiquette dinner" at FarmHouse with Daniel tonight. Right before I left my house he called to say he decided he was going to come pick me up instead. He came over and got me and when we got to FarmHouse we walked in the dining room to the guys waiting to sing to me! I reacted like I usually do to surprises by not saying anything for a good 5 minutes. I'm so proud of them...well mostly Madalene... For not telling me! Who knew she could keep secrets from me? (Lol- love you) It was SO much fun, and I still can't believe I get to be their sweetheart this year!

Back to the Real World

So much to blog about!

Thursday I finally got out of the house!  Daniel came and got me and we ventured to Sonic and hung out for awhile.  I'm so thankful I don't ever have to drive around in the snow and ice.  I'd much rather have him take care of me.

Friday was AWESOME!  Me and Madalene finally got to go see Mama Mia at the Walton Arts Center after it was canceled Wednesday night.  It was so much fun, and solidified my love of musicals.  Not to mention I already knew all the songs thanks to the movie.  There were more songs in the musical than in the movie also, which was a fun surprise.

Saturday was Valentine's Day part one.  I went to the basketball game- which we actually won and played well- with Daniel, Sam, Keith & Kaitlin.  I just love watching the Hogs beat LSU.  Later, Daniel came and picked me up- and brought me flowers- and took me to Noodles for dinner.  It was so much fun to go out with him somewhere we don't usually go.  Then we went to the movies, which is always a great date as far as I'm concerned.  It was a little scary seeing the hundreds of little ones there to see the Bieber movie that just came out- who knew?- but it was worth it.  Just Go With It is HILARIOUS.  Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are two of my favorite actors and they did a great job together.  All in all, it was a great Valentine's Day- can't believe it was already my third with Daniel.

On Sunday I got to spend some time babysitting, which is always a good time.  Toy Story and Monopoly is a great was to spend a Sunday afternoon.  Katie proved her Roomie skills again by delivering my Valentine from my parents she picked up in Conway for me that weekend.  I love that I still get Valentines from them, I hope that doesn't change anytime soon! (hint, hint Mom)

Then today was Valentine's Day part two!  After classes, I picked up Daniel for our "Kiss Your Valentine for BOGO Qdoba" date, followed by some CSI & ice cream at the house with Colb-ster.  What a wonderful Valentine's weekend!  I am so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life!  Plus, the most amazing Valentine ever.  (PS thanks for the Glee CDs, Valentine.)  I love you all! <3

Bum, bum, bum, bum...

So I think we're up to about a foot of snow now?  And BUM is the only word for today.  All four of us- Laura, Sydney, Colby & me!  Snow days seem to mean pancakes at our house- strawberry and white chocolate chips today.  We even made a mini pancake for Colby- minus the chocolate chips.  

The rest of the day has consisted of finally putting pictures on facebook since we got engaged and finishing up my craft project for the week!  Aaaaand, becoming a GLEEk.  My Roomies got to me, I mean where else would I go?  I jumped in in the middle of season one, and I'm addicted already.  Why can't we break out into song at random times too?  I think I'd be good at it.  I could have a soundtrack to my life.  Current fav: Colbie Calliat's I Do, it's super cute and obviously appropriate right now!

Snow Week

So far I've had SIX snow days this semester.  And what's on the shedule for tomorrow?  MORE SNOW!  I'm really quite over it.  In preparation for my day full of nothing tomorrow I made a trip to Hobby Lobby with Katie for craft supplies to entertain myself with tomorrow.  Hopefully Madalene's brilliant crafting skills with pull me through snow day number 7. 

In wedding news, I emailed with a local photographer to set up a photo shoot on Old Main for "We Just Got Engaged" photos!  I know they're a little late, but we wanted some engagement-like shots in Fayetteville, also.  We're also setting up our engagement photos with the photographer doing the wedding later this week.  I can't believe the wedding is getting so close!  It seems like some of the these things are so HUGE.  Pictures seem huge for me, I guess because we'll have them forever.

Post Number 2

So I finally finished setting up my blog!  It was touch and go there for a minute, but some hardwork spent here, and not on homework yet, got the job done.  Short post tonight- gotta get ready for dinner and quality TV night with the roomie- Sydney.  Because Mondays = Pretty Little Liars & Gossip Girl :)

The First One

So this is blog post número uno! What on earth could I possibly blog about? What does anyone have to blog about...? I have no idea, but here's a brief intro to me:

My name is Kara Dell. In 6 months it will be Kara Hollinger. I'm an only child, and my parents are two of my best friends. I love my family- my whole family- very, very much. To them I've always been the princess. But they taught me that I would never be a princess to the rest of the world, and for that lesson I am grateful. I have amazing friends, but I'm really not a people-person most of the time. I'm definitely a dog person. I have Colby, who lives with me, and Sunny who lives with my parents. Back to that name changing- I'm getting married! Daniel is my best friend ever. And the reason I decided to start a blog. I'm not all that great at sharing everything that's going on in my life all the time-it annoys my friends often... And I want to remember every detail of being engaged, planning a wedding, and soon married life! At only 6 months out, some of this planning is already done, but I'll go back and fill you in on that part soon.
